Furniture removal across North Carolina
Offices are downsizing, moving and redesigning their layouts, and homes change with every move, renovation and estate. Either way, old furniture has to go somewhere, and most of it is too big, too heavy or too awkward to handle without a crew and a truck.
Alpha Demolish removes furniture from offices, commercial spaces and homes across North Carolina. We disassemble what needs to come apart, protect the building on the way out, donate or recycle as much as possible, and dispose of the rest responsibly, often in a single visit.
This page explains what our furniture removal service includes, when people call us, how we handle donation, recycling and special items, what affects the cost and how to prepare.

What affects furniture removal cost
Furniture removal is priced by volume, with extra for disassembly, difficult access and special items. We give a fixed quote up front.
| Cost factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Volume | How much truck space the furniture takes. |
| Disassembly | Cubicle systems and large units take time to take apart. |
| Access | Stairs, elevators and long carries add labor. |
| Timing | After-hours and weekend work may cost more. |
| Special items | Electronics, appliances and mattresses may carry recycling fees. |
| Building requirements | COIs, elevator windows and dock scheduling add coordination. |
How quickly can we clear the furniture?
Most furniture removals happen within a few days, scheduled around building access for commercial work. A typical job runs like this:
| Job type | Typical timing |
|---|---|
| Quote from photos or walkthrough | Often same day |
| Home furniture removal | Often within a few days |
| Office removal (with building coordination) | A few days, around elevator/dock windows |
| After-hours or weekend office work | Scheduled to your building |
| Lease-end decommissioning | Planned to your move-out date |
| Clean-up and hand-off | Same visit |
Decommissioning, clear-outs and special items
We scale the job from a few pieces to a whole floor, and handle the items that need special routing.

Office decommissioning
Furniture cleared, abandoned low-voltage cabling removed above ceilings, IT asset disposal coordinated, and the space left broom-clean for the landlord walkthrough.

Home and estate clear-outs
Whole-home furniture removal for moves, renovations and estates, from any room in the house.

Special-handling items
Electronics, appliances with refrigerant, mattresses and bed-bug-infested furniture wrapped and routed to the right recyclers or disposal.
Many commercial leases require the space returned empty and, in some cases, abandoned cabling and tenant-installed items removed — we handle that and leave it ready for the landlord’s walkthrough.
Disposal rules and building requirements
Responsible furniture removal means following North Carolina’s landfill bans and your building’s access rules. We handle both:
- Electronics. Computers, monitors and TVs are banned from North Carolina landfills and go to electronics recyclers; businesses should wipe or remove data storage first.
- Appliances. Refrigerators and other white goods are recycled, with refrigerant recovered as federal rules require.
- Mattresses. Recycled where local programs exist; otherwise disposed of properly.
- Bed bugs. Infested furniture is wrapped before removal to avoid spreading pests.
- Certificates of insurance. We provide COIs naming your building owner and property manager as required.
- Building access. Freight elevator reservations, loading dock windows and after-hours work coordinated with property management.
Before we remove computers, servers or copiers, remove or wipe any data storage — and we can coordinate with your IT asset disposal provider for secure handling.
How to prepare for furniture removal
A little preparation makes removal day fast and smooth. Helpful items include:
NEED FURNITURE CLEARED?
Let’s clear the furniture
Send an inventory, photos or book a walkthrough and a specialist will give you a fixed price, coordinate your building, and put donation and recycling first — no commitment needed.
Donation, reuse and recycling
A lot of furniture we remove still has years of use left, so we donate and recycle before anything is disposed of:
- Donation and reuse. Usable pieces go to charities, nonprofits and reuse stores such as Habitat for Humanity ReStores across North Carolina.
- Metal. Cubicle frames, filing cabinets, shelving and metal furniture are recycled as scrap.
- Electronics and appliances. Recycled separately, as they are banned from North Carolina landfills.
- Wood and materials. Recycled where local facilities accept them.
For businesses, we can provide documentation of donated and recycled items to support sustainability reporting.
