Junk removal across North Carolina
Before a house can be demolished, sold, rented or renovated, it usually needs to be emptied. That can mean a lifetime of belongings in an estate, a garage and attic full of forgotten items, tenant leftovers in a rental, or a closed office still full of furniture and files.
Alpha Demolish provides junk removal across North Carolina for homeowners, families, landlords, realtors, property managers and businesses. We do all the lifting and loading, donate what can be reused, recycle what North Carolina requires, and dispose of the rest properly. Because we are also a demolition company, we can clear a property and demolish it with one team and one schedule.
This page explains what our junk removal service includes, when people call us, how we handle donation, recycling and sensitive estate clean-outs, what affects the cost and how to prepare.

What affects junk removal cost
Junk removal is priced by how much truck space your items take, with extra only for heavy or special items. We give a fixed quote up front.
| Cost factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Volume | Priced by how much truck space your items take. |
| Heavy items | Pianos, hot tubs, safes and concrete add labor. |
| Special disposal | Appliances, tires and electronics have recycling fees. |
| Access | Stairs, attics and long carries take more time. |
| Sorting | Estates with careful sorting take longer than simple clean-outs. |
| Volume of donation | Separating and delivering donations adds a little time. |
How quickly can we clear a property?
A single-room clear-out can often be same-day; a full estate or hoarding clean-out is phased over a few days. Call early in the day for the best chance of same-day service.
| Job type | Typical timing |
|---|---|
| Quote from photos | Often same day |
| Single-item or single-room | Often same day |
| Garage, attic or basement | A few hours to a day |
| Full house or estate clean-out | 1–3 days |
| Rental turnover / eviction | Once legal waiting periods pass |
| Hoarding clean-out | Phased over several days |
Estate, rental and hoarding clean-outs
Some clean-outs need more than a truck and a crew. We tailor the job to the situation.

Estate clean-outs
We work at your pace, set aside anything personal or valuable, and can work from a list and video walkthrough for out-of-town families.

Rental turnovers
We clear units between tenants and after evictions, once you confirm North Carolina’s legal waiting periods for a former tenant’s property have passed.

Hoarding and heavy clean-outs
Long-vacant and hoarded homes handled with respect, protective gear and phased work, coordinating with families or property managers.
Because we are also a demolition company, we can empty a property and demolish it with one team and one schedule.
North Carolina disposal rules we follow
North Carolina bans a number of items from its landfills, so responsible junk removal means sorting before disposal. We also follow the rules around evictions and hazardous items:
- Electronics. Televisions and computer equipment are banned from North Carolina landfills and go to electronics recyclers.
- White goods. Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers and other major appliances are recycled, with refrigerants recovered.
- Tires, batteries and used oil. All banned from landfills and taken to recyclers.
- Yard waste. Brush, leaves and limbs cannot go to ordinary landfills and are taken to composting or yard waste facilities.
- Hazardous materials. Full paint cans, chemicals, fuel and asbestos cannot go as ordinary junk; we advise on or arrange proper disposal.
- Eviction waiting periods. North Carolina law sets waiting periods for how a former tenant’s belongings are handled; we remove items once you confirm those have passed.
Usable furniture, building materials, appliances and household goods go to charities and reuse stores such as Habitat for Humanity ReStores before anything is disposed of, with donation receipts where the charity issues them.
Before we arrive
A little preparation makes removal day fast and smooth:
NEED A PROPERTY CLEARED?
Let’s empty that property
Send a few photos or book a walkthrough and a specialist will give you a fixed price, plus donation and recycling options — no commitment needed.
Donation and recycling first
We keep as much as possible out of the landfill, in order of donation, recycling, then disposal:
- Donation and reuse. Usable furniture, appliances, building materials and household goods go to charities and reuse stores such as Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
- Electronics and appliances. TVs, computers and white goods go to recyclers, with refrigerants recovered.
- Metals and tires. Scrap metal, tires and batteries go to recyclers, as NC rules require.
- Yard waste. Brush and limbs go to composting or yard waste facilities.
Only what cannot be reused or recycled goes to a permitted landfill, and we can provide donation receipts and disposal records on request.
